tiger shark

The tiger shark tossed his snout from side to side, trying to pick up traces of blood. He snapped up a salmon and some mackerel, but he was still hungry. Suddenly, a strong scent of blood came to his nostrils. He zoned in on the smell. An octopus flailed its tentacles as four cod swam around it, occasionally darting in and biting a tentacle. Clouds of thick black ink billowed out at the cod and they flipped right over themselves. A pair of toothy jaws suddenly appeared from the inky blackness, snapping up two of the three cod and tearing a fifteen-pound chunk from the octopus's head.

My Favorite Place is Deep Run Park

My favorite place is Deep Run Park. I like it because it is quiet and peaceful, and it has lots of animals. I've seen squirrels, mallard ducks, Canadian geese, red-winged blackbirds, a great blue heron, a cottontail rabbit, and toadlets. I have heard the loud call of the bullfrog, but I have never seen one. In the middle of summer vacation, I went fishing with my dad, brother, and friends, when I saw these animals. I saw an Alaskan husky that had been on a dog show on TV.

The mornings were a nice time to be out there, and fish. So far, I have caught four types of fish. The different types were sunfish, bass, catfish, and crappie. My smallest was a sunfish, about four inches long. The largest one was a catfish that was fifteen inches long. My biggest bass was eleven and a half inches long. Catfish were the most difficult to catch because even the small ones put up strong fights when you hooked them and reeled them in. The best thing that happened to me was that there was a Cub Scout fishing tournament and I won first place for catching the most fish and the biggest fish. I gained all my experience by starting out fishing at Deep Run Park.

Mammals

Mammals are warm-blooded. But the platypus and the echidna lay eggs. People are mammals too. Mammals started out as rat and mouselike small animals in the dinosaur ages. When the age of the reptiles ended, the mammals and birds took over. Tropical forests appeared, and also big plains, where indricotheres, creatures that could tower over elephants and giraffes, lived. There was Hyaenodon, a doglike predator the size of a large rhino, and bear-dogs, little doglike animals the size of housecats. Then after that, in South America, grassy plains appeared, bringing agile antelope that could go thirty meters in several seconds. But there were also huge ground sloths, and armadillos with spiked clubs at the end of their tails. One couldn't forget Smilodon, the sabertoothed cat, or Phorusrhacos, flightless birds who preyed on hippidiforms, small skittish horses. When that ended, our ancestors appeared, apelike animals that could walk upright.

Ocean Mammals
In the beginning of mammals, there were ten-foot crocodile-like animals that swam by undulating their bodies up and down, and had fur. These were the predecessors of whales. There were two types of whales. Dorudon, a sixteen-foot whale, and Basilosaurus, a much larger whale. Modern ocean mammals include dolphins, sea otters, seals, sea lions, and whales. Above all, mammals are a large and diverse group.

The Chronicles of the AquaSquad

The loach was swimming through the anacharis forest. Sparky the catfish was eating particles of algae disk. The loach ate a piece of tropical flake lodged in the gravel. Then he swam to Cherry City, home of the cherry barbs. At Cherry City, red lights with black stripes shone everywhere. Suddenly, all the lights turned green! A green swordtail swam into the middle of the city. He said, "I am the all-conquering Sabertail, ruler of the aquarium! You low-ranking scum will serve me!" Suddenly a group of enormous shadows blocked out the light, replacing it with silver light instead. An enormous tinfoil barb body slammed "Sabertail" and sent him flying into Sparky, who chomped off part of Sabertail's tail and ate it. Then he clamped his jaws down on the swordtail's body, chewed, then flung him into an entire Armada of minnows! Sabertail fled, flanked by chomping minnows.

Then they celebrated. First they turned all the lights back to red and black. And then they had feasts with tropical flake cakes topped with goldfish pellets and algae disks, much to the relief of Sparky.

Dyte attack

The year was 2010. An evil doctor had created monsters called dytes to take over the world. The W-ST (world-saving team) hired a cat skilled in shooting to stop the doctor's evil plan. They gave him a special gun called a dyte blaster to defend himself against different kinds of dytes in each area. His mission:find various items in each stage of a certain dyte's travel path. First, he had safely gotten through the town of Badgerville.

Something there was very strange. There were houses and fire hydrants, telephone booths , and fountains. But there weren't any people. The cat had gone to the fountain when he saw something lying by the fountain. A beaker of rainbow-colored oil filled half the beaker. He picked it up, and suddenly found himself tumbling through space. When he landed, he found himself in the Alien Desert.

Pools of dyte oil were lying everywhere. "Wawwow! Gooeloy! Yakk!" The cat looked up from the oil he was studying, and saw a bunch of green, spiky dytes running toward him. Cooper (that's the cat's name) fired from his dyte blaster. A blue beam of light blew from the gun and hit the leading dyte. Shock waves of blue electricity shot out of the stricken dyte and hit the rest of the dytes, who had grown insane at the sight of prey. They all stood there, with their mouths hanging open, and disappeared in puffs of green smoke. Then Cooper walked away and found a cave. He went inside and found a dyte blaster recharging station. He slipped an energy coin into a slot in the side of the blaster.
