Why I like summer

I like summer because I achieve a lot during this particular season. I also think that summer is one of my favorite seasons because it is one of the best times to fish. Fishing is my favorite hobby. I can also get some new videogames. I also don’t have to be quiet because Schae always shushes me up. I don’t have to worry about being squished under a load of homework on day 2 because there is no day 2.

I also get to eat out and go places more because there will be no school the next day. The day after my 11th birthday, we went to a little pond out in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was full of jumping trout and nothing else. I caught one after a long time. It was 13 inches long. We brought some friends with us. Their mom snared a crayfish with a net and it lived happily for half a year in our fish tank. It died of old age at last at the end of October 2007.

We also take a trip to India every 2 or 3 years. It is dreadfully hot there. There are 6-inch cockroaches in the toilet (which is in a very different shape) which made me refuse to go to the bathroom. But skipping that, it’s a fun place. I also like to feed the flocks of crows that fight on the power lines. After five minutes a bunch of big shaggy ravens flies down, scares the living daylight out of the crows, and takes over the food department. Then I come outside and scare the heck out of them. There seems to be a strict pecking order to the flock.

I also reached an important milestone in my aging process in India. I hit 10 years! I also caught my first catfish in the summer. It was at Deep Run Park. I got my biggest fish ever caught record there too. It was a 15-inch catfish. Another thing I did is, I went to Pearl Beach in India. It was so fun there. The sand was really thick and the waves were little and safe.

Another thing I like to do in summer is read. I read a pretty good amount of books over the summer. To most people, though, it may seem that I overdo it. I also like having my friends over. We have lots of fun when we get together. I also like swimming. I dive under the surface and lurk around like a shark or a crocodile. I enjoy swimming underwater. It’s like I’m in my own world. That is why I like summer.
